U Sai Myo Win is the Founder, Chairman & Group CEO of Excellent Fortune Development Group Co., Ltd. (EFD GROUP). Born in Myitkyina, Kachin State, Myanmar, he started EFD GROUP in 2012 with his wife Mdm. Nan Khin Myint Yee. Under his leadership, the business has grown from a family run business to a multi sector conglomerate. EFD GROUP has successfully transformed itself into a dynamic and integrated group of companies in 5 key sectors – Financial, Real estate, Mining, Agriculture and Industrial.
U Sai Myo Win is also the Chairman of Excellent Fortune Foundation (EFF Foundation), a philanthropic organization dedicated to serving the people of Myanmar. The national level foundation supports and contributes to the social welfare, healthcare, education, rural development, disaster prevention, relief and rehabilitation, uplift of the living standards of Myanmar people and development of Myanmar.
Between 2007 and 2011, U Sai Myo Win served as the Chairman of the Management Committee of Shwe Pyi Thar Industrial Zone (Division 2, 3 and 4) and Thar Du Kan Industrial Zone (Division 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5). He was the youngest amongst the chairmen of the Management Committee overseeing the largest cluster of divisions in the industrial zone.
U Sai Myo Win currently serves as the Chairman of Excellent Fortune Life Insurance (EFIL) and Excellent Fortune General Insurance (EFIG), a position he has assumed since 2013. He also serves as Managing Director of Golden Environmental Construction Company Limited which developed Fortune Plaza and Myanmar Expo.
In FY 18/19, one of EFD group of companies has been ranked as Myanmar’s 13th top income tax payer for Myanmar companies.
On 4 Jan 2020, U Sai Myo Win is awarded the title of “Agga Maha Sirisudhamma Manijotadhara”. The title is one of the highest medal of honors awarded by the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
U Sai Myo Win is the major shareholder of Farmers Development Bank – Mandalay (FDB Bank) which commenced operation on 29 December 2021.
