Key Responsibilities
- Interpretation (Primary Duty):
- Provideconsecutive and simultaneous interpretation during high-level executive meetings, business negotiations, contract discussions, and presentations between Myanmar (Burmese) and Chinese (Mandarin) parties.
- Accompany senior management to project sites, factory visits, and official functions to provide real-time interpretation.
- Interpret for Chinese delegations visiting the company, ensuring a smooth and productive exchange.
- Written Translation:
- Translate a wide range of business documents with precision, includingcontracts, agreements, proposals, technical specifications, tender documents, and official correspondence from Chinese to Burmese and vice versa.
- Translate internal reports, emails, PowerPoint presentations, and marketing materials.
- Ensure translated texts retain the original meaning, tone, context, and technical terminology.
- Communication and Liaison:
- Act as a cultural bridge, explaining nuanced business etiquettes and practices to both Myanmar and Chinese executives.
- Serve as a key point of contact for Chinese partners, assisting with day-to-day communication via phone and email.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with all parties.
- Administrative and Logistical Support:
- Assist in arranging schedules, itineraries, and logistics for Chinese guests and delegations.
- Prepare briefs and background information for executives prior to meetings with Chinese counterparts.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Language, Translation Studies, International Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of2-3 years of experience working as a professional Chinese translator and interpreter, preferably within a large corporate, industrial, or construction environment.
- Proven experience ininterpreting for high-level business meetings and translating legal/technical documents.
- Experience working with Chinese multinational companies is a significant advantage.
- Native or Fluent (Near-Native) in Burmese.
- Fluent (HSK 5/6) in Mandarin Chinese,with exceptional skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
- Strong command of Business Englishis a significant advantage, as many trilingual (Chinese-Myanmar-English) communications are required.
- Ability to understand and accurately translate complex business, legal, financial, and technical terminology in both languages.
- Familiarity with business, legal, and technical terminology relevant to the conglomerate’s core businesses (e.g., construction, engineering, finance, FMCG).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and translation management tools.
